Apostille Legalisation

Apostille Legalisation

What is an Apostille Legalisation?

Once a document has been signed by a notary public it should be sent for an Apostille Legalisation. An apostille certificate issued by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Developmental Office (FCDO) authenticates the document for use outside the UK by countries that are members of the Hague Convention (The Hague Convention Abolishing the Requirement of Legalisation for Foreign Public Documents). The apostille confirms that the notary public is registered and their signature matches the government’s records.

The apostille is widely recognised and is being requested more frequently by overseas organisations and government offices.

What do we do?

If your documents need to be apostilled our notary and specialist staff will be able to liaise with the FCDO on your behalf, or if you have the time, we can advise you on how to do it yourself.

The FCDO charges £45.00 per document, plus £5.00 courier charges. We will charge you an administration fee for dealing with this aspect.

If you require an Apostille on an urgent basis, the FCDO located in Milton Keynes  provides a Premium Service for Notary Publics, with same day delivery available. They charge you a cost of £100 per document. We will charge you an administration fee for arranging premium same day Apostille services.
